If you are homeschooling, the candidates examination centre will need to process an application.  The Examination Centre, will need to be communicated with.  You will need to find out their process and if they have an assessor and/or their process for working with an external assessor.

Please note:  exam access arrangements (EAAs) are to support fair and equitable access to formal assessments.

  • ONLY a school SENCo and Head of Centre can decide on which access arrangements to apply for and process.
  • Access Arrangements Assessment scores can only be used by a school/centre IF the SENCo and Head of Centre agree this prior to assessment.  This agreement is needed in writing, prior to booking.
  • Access Arrangement scores support a candidates existing 'normal way of working' (NWOW).
  • Normal way of working is a candidate's need reflected, over time, in lessons, assessments and school.
  • Access Arrangements are a privilege and are put in place to support candidates who have sincere need.
Please note:
I am not a clinical psychologist and do not provide formal diagnoses. My psychometric assessments offer evidence-based indicators to support decision-making by schools, clinicians, and families. They help build a fuller picture of strengths, challenges, and support needs.

Examination Access Arrangements Assessments

This is a simple report for students experiencing persistent barriers to progress e.g. literacy, working memory, processing speed, or handwriting.

The scope of need is identified by the examination centre and written on what is called a 'Form 8', in Part 1 of the form.

This report can be used to:

  • Contribute to an application for Exam Access Arrangements (EAA),
  • Create an evidence base for future examination access arrangements.

As the assessor:
  • I will need to communicate directly with the candidate's SENCo/ examination Head of Centre.
  • I will need to receive a Form 8 with completed sections from the SENCo/examination Head of Centre, and
  • I will need to complete Form 8, Section 2 with appropriate assessment scores and my credentials.
  • Communications will be electronic or by video call

Includes:

  • Selected assessments based on Form 8, Part 1 information provided by the SENCo / Head of Centre.
  • SENCo / Head of Centre must provide evidence of candidates normal way of working (NWOW) over time.
  • Ability and/or attainment testing based on candidate's documented history of need and normal way of working (NWOW).
  • Immediate initial feedback on 'way of working during the assessments'.
  • A report including scores and recommendations for examination access arrangements.
